FAQs

  • I combine a variety of therapeutic modalities and approaches to delve into deeper layers of consciousness; reaching into the wounded places that final girls store within their shadows including Existential, Relational, Narrative, and Jungian psychotherapy, along with tarot and dreamwork.

It is my role as a relational therapist to understand my clients’ unique lived experience and respond with empathy and authentic presence; co-creating a relationship that is safe, nurturing, and collaborative.

  • It makes sense that we want solutions for our pain. And while we are working towards healing from pain, coming to solutions may look a little different than simply providing 10 easy steps.

When you work with a regulating, empathetic other, you will develop a sense of safety and understanding. Grounding in that place opens up avenues for, healing, future possibilities, and more self-aligned ways of being.

Some indicators that progress is being made in therapy include:

    • An increased window of tolerance for identifying and being with emotions

    • The ability to be in secure relationships with self and others

    • An increased capacity for nervous system regulation

    • The ability to process and be mindful of difficult feelings and experiences.

The relationship that we will create together will serve as a place to safely re-experience — and then find freedom from — the powerful effects of relationships, patterns, and behaviours that are no longer supportive.

  • Working towards personal transformation through the therapeutic process looks different for everyone. But what rings true universally, is that releasing unsupportive relationships, patterns, and behaviours that have attached themselves to our story takes time and patience.

The processing of your feelings, experience, and story cannot be placed on a timeline. Your soul will unfold as it needs to, and it will take as much space as it craves. It is important to note, however, that psychotherapy is most effective when sessions are held on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Many people choose to work with a therapist on a consistent, long-term basis to provide the support they need as they move through the ups and downs of everyday life.

There is no one-size fits all solution. But it is important to note that therapy is a place to find support for your emotional well-being as you move through the world, just as you would tend regularly to the rest of your healthcare needs. Like anything else, you get out of therapy what you put into it.

  • Consultations are an opportunity for you to get a sense of me and my therapeutic approach, and for me to get a sense of you and your experience of the world. For this reason they are complimentary.

I will ask you some questions about what you are looking for in a therapist, and what you would like to get out of therapy. You might like to come with any questions you have about me and how I practice, what you would like to work on, and what type of support you are looking for. It’s totally okay to feel nervous or unsure — and feel free to let me know! I’m here to make you feel safe and supported.

  • I live in Toronto, but I work with clients across Canada via secure video conferencing. So in a sense, I am everywhere.

  • Psychotherapy is covered under many benefit plans. Coverage may be available to you through extended health benefits under my Registered Psychotherapist designation in the province of Ontario. Please check with your provider.

  • Tarot is a glorious tool that can help deepen therapeutic work; amplifying the healing process. It can can help to illuminate understanding through imagery, archetypes, and symbolism, while supporting a connection to your intuition.

I will guide you through the shuffling, layout, and interpretation of the cards. Then, we will collaboratively explore what comes available into consciousnesses. The cards that are pulled will have a unique meaning for you within the context of your experience. Any way you interpret them is completely valid and holds deep meaning.

Tarot cards are a psychotherapeutic tool to help clients connect more deeply with their unconscious.

  • Chances are, you know what to do. Right? But there are reasons why it’s hard to do. We have these things called “organizing principles.” They are a set of beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. They are shaped by our life’s experiences and cannot be changed by someone simply telling you actually you should just trust people whole-heartedly despite a lifetime of being let down. All fixed!

I cannot tell you what to do. I can only provide a place where we may explore your soul, building understanding, and future possibilities for growth. My job as a therapist is to listen, and that will help you to understand and listen to yourself.

  • I encourage all my clients to keep a dream journal and to bring dreams to session for us to explore together.

As you move through your week, it can be helpful to notice your feelings around issues and dynamics we have discussed together. I may prompt you to pay attention to something specific we have discussed together. You may wish to write down your feelings and observations, or dance about them, dream about them, talk to a friend about them, share them with the inhabitants of your local cemetery — whatever! What’s most important is that you are noticing yourself and becoming more aware of your own feelings, patterns, and behaviours.

If we have pulled tarot cards together, I will email them to you following our session. This is also an opportunity for you to further reflect on what the cards are bringing up for you.
