therapy for final girls

In horror movies, the final girl is the one who survives to tell the tale.

Final girls have faced down monsters and demons, and in that fight, have become strong and resilient. Others often look to final girls for guidance.

And while final girls are given no choice but to be strong and to fight for survival, they have undergone a traumatic past that can feel hard to shake. Underneath her tough and capable exterior, there are shadows. Final girls struggle to feel grounded in the aftermath of what they have experienced.

Appearing strong and capable on the outside seems like a necessary strategy to navigate a world where it feels like the horror movie keeps playing.

My therapy practice is a place for final girls to lay down their weapons and the armour they have learned to wear.

Perhaps you are processing the death of a loved one, or trying to understand the narratives that a traumatic relationship caused you to believe about yourself. By understanding and processing our experiences of grief and trauma, we can create new neural pathways that open up possibilities for not only healing and integration, but for new stories to be told.

I incorporate both tarot and dream work into my practice as tools to help clients explore fields of psychic terrain, helping to connect with deeper layers of knowing.
